Is Melvor Idle 2 multiplayer?

No co-op or PvP mode has been announced. Melvor Idle 2 is listed as single-player, and the FAQ says it is offline by default. Friends, optional Cloud Profiles and Presence are social features, not shared combat or skilling.

What “online” means in the FAQ

The April 2025 FAQ describes a friends list, optional Cloud Profiles and privacy options. Presence shows how many people around the world are doing the same action as you; it is not merely a friend’s online indicator. These network features do not create a shared playable world.

Steam app 3218350 lists Single-player, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing as categories in the data checked on 29 October 2026. Casual, Indie, RPG and Early Access are genres, not multiplayer categories. Steam Cloud is a save service, while Family Sharing is not simultaneous co-op.

Competitive, co-op, and trading

The official sources checked do not announce a competitive ladder, race mode, co-op skilling or player trading. A search query for those modes is not evidence that they exist.

The FAQ announces an in-game Mod Manager. That does not establish a multiplayer server, co-op mod or a currently available mod catalogue. The mods page separates that announced support from unrelated third-party downloads.

Questions

Can I play Melvor Idle 2 with friends?

You can be on a friends list. You cannot join their combat or their skills in a mode the developer has described.

Is there PvP?

No PvP mode has been announced.

Does Presence mean the game is always online?

No. The FAQ says the game is offline by default and progresses offline at the same rate as active play. Optional online social features and cloud services need a connection; they are not an always-online requirement for the idle loop.
