Hours unknown
Melvor Idle 2 offline progression
Melvor Idle 2 progresses offline at the same speed as active play, according to the April 2025 FAQ. It also describes the client as offline by default. The sources checked on 29 October 2026 do not state an offline hour cap.
Offline speed, connectivity and the Event Log
The Coming Soon FAQ explicitly says offline progression runs at the same speed as active play. Steam repeats that description. GamingOnLinux also reported the announced feature; that is an independent editorial source, not an independent offline benchmark.
The same FAQ describes an offline-by-default client and an Event Log that records notable events, including offline progression breakdowns. Cloud saves and social features are separate network services, not a reason to describe the whole game as always online.
The demo announcement estimates about 10-12 hours to reach level 60 in one skill while playing optimally. It does not say those hours must be active-only, and the estimate is neither an offline cap nor a complete-game clear time.
What people usually want, and why it is blank
Neither an hour cap nor a tick length is given in the cited material. A published same-speed relationship does not supply a universal XP/hour number: the April overview describes Current Action Tracking as showing rates for the selected action.
Melvor Cloud backup applies when logged in, alongside Steam Cloud in the pinned FAQ. Those backup statements do not define the offline timer. The first game has its own rules; its hour cap is not a sourced value for the sequel.

Editorial notes
This page distinguishes the published offline-speed relationship from an unpublished hour cap. The developer FAQ and Steam repeat the same source material; GamingOnLinux independently reported the announced feature, not a measured offline test.
